I’m trying to work out some regular features for the blog and one of the ideas I came up with is a “Friday Things” post to update you on things going on with the blog in general and a bit of my personal life. This is the first installment and I have some BIG news!
I am in a magazine!!! I am still having trouble wrapping my head around this concept, even after holding the physical copy of the magazine in my hands. I am so excited to share this with you guys. I have been working on this for a few weeks now, but wanted to wait until it was “real” to share it with you.
I am being featured in the October/November issue of Gray Magazine which is a design and architecture magazine in the Pacific Northwest. The piece I am featured in discusses the influence fashion has on interior design. The print version can be found in Washington, Oregon and some parts of Canada at Barnes & Noble, Whole Foods and New Seasons. When the online version is available, I will be sure to post a link.
For the past two days (and again tomorrow), I have been attending my FIRST blog conference! I have been wanting to attend a blog conference for a while, but there aren’t any in the Oregon area that really apply to what I do, so I am VERY excited to be a part of this online conference, that I can attend without leaving my little man with his grandparents.
So far I have learned A LOT and am very excited to make some changes on my site. It will take some time, but I hope to share a new look on this site very soon.
I’ve been on the wait list at the library for The Flower Recipe Book for MONTHS and it was finally available!!! I like to check books out at the library before buying them, because then I really get to see if I use it (ESPECIALLY with cookbooks). I am obsessed with this book and it’s definitely going on my Christmas wish list!
I plan on burying myself in flower arrangement knowledge this weekend, while my husband has been completely immersed in the new Le Pigeon cookbook I picked up for him as an early birthday gift.
Lastly, I am VERY excited for fall. Our family is headed to the pumpkin patch this weekend, so plan on lots of adorable pumpkin photos on next week’s Friday Things.
Have a wonderful weekend!
