Hopefully you got the memo about Daylight Savings yesterday and you weren’t too thrown by the time change. The lighter evenings, Spring blooms and flower buds on our trees are a warm reminder that Spring is on it’s way. While Spring doesn’t officially begin until March 20th, I am ready to get a jump start with some Spring cleaning.
In our previous years as renters, Spring cleaning wasn’t a very big deal. It seemed we moved every year or two anyways, so there wasn’t ever a need to do an honest “deep clean.” Now that we own our home (and plan on staying here for years to come) it is important to us to keep our house in good shape. After all, ignoring the care of your home can lead to expensive repairs.
I am a checklist person by nature (it gives me a sense of accomplishment), but I had a hard time finding a simple checklist that was edited to only one page. So I looked at about a million different sources and compiled my own Spring cleaning checklist with the nitty gritty for what needs to be done to get your home fresh for Spring. I also included a reminder to reward yourself with fresh flowers (a tip I learned from Apartment Therapy) and a manicure (because I know I need one after all that cleaning).
I wanted to share my list with my readers in case you are in the same boat. Click here to view the PDF for your own personal use:
I hope this helps get you ready for Spring. I just planted my first seeds (indoors) and can’t wait to get back outside and gardening.
