Nursery Letters by DENY Designs

A huge trend right now in nursery decor (as well as home decor in general) is wall lettering. Usually used to write the child’s name above the crib, I have also seen some really cute variations including the words “sleep,” “grow,” and the phrase “read to me.” Since our nursery is a shared room between the two boys, I thought I’d go with a phrase instead of having both names up on the wall.

When it came time to order the letters, I knew exactly who to call. I met Kim and Lenay from DENY Designs at the ALT Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah. They impressed me with samples of their product and the story behind their brand. DENY Designs creates a variety of home products that can all be customized using their extensive art collection. All of their products are printed in America and their custom letters are also manufactured in the US. What’s more is that every purchase contributes a portion to the artist behind the specific print you use.

After looking through the vast amount of print options (there are over 7,000 to choose from!) I settled on a grey print that was organic and modern at the same time – perfect for the boys’ room I was molding in my head. The letters came SUPER fast and were all individually wrapped when they arrived. They are fairly lightweight but definitely sturdy and the print quality is fantastic. What I was most surprised to find though, was how easily they are to hang. Here is how I did it:Deny_Designs_Nursery_Letters_Supplies

All you need for this project are some Scotch Removable Mounting Squares (which I picked up at Target), a level and your letters.

For a quick installation, get all the letters ready by attaching one side of the removable mounting squares to the letters. My two-year-old was thrilled to help with these “stickers” and we had the letters ready in no time.

Then, you simply peel and stick the letters onto the wall! I used a level to make sure the letters went on straight and evenly spaced. You could pencil a thin straight line onto the wall, but this method worked well for me and there is no clean up work to do afterwards.

Once I had the first letter up, I used the level to guide and evenly space the remaining letters.

And that’s it! The squares really are removable because I had to remove and adjust a few letters in the process. They didn’t remove any paint from the wall, so this is a great idea for renters. The letters are securely attached to the wall and I am not worried about them falling off. This is truly the easiest project I have done to date. I finished hanging these letters in under 30 minutes, even with the “help” of my toddler.

I love these! Ok, I doubly love that they’re so easy. Unfortunately I don’t have a lot of time these days for involved, complicated projects (thank you, little one!), so this is right up my alley.

Thanks! It was tough to narrow down the choices, but I am happy with how this one looks with the other patterns in the room.

I love those letters. I also love the fact that you don’t have to nail anything into the wall! I’m going to check them out!

Love this! I’ve been looking for a good decal company for my master bedroom project. These have more style than the filmy version.
